Time has named the women who spoke out against sexual harassment and abuse, and who started the #MeToo movement, as Person of the Year for 2017.
Time Magazine has named its Person of the Year for 2017 as what it describes as the ‘Silence Breakers’ of the #MeToo anti-sexual harassment movement on social media.
Unveiling its annual special issue on Wednesday (December 6th) with the headline “The Silence Breakers: The Voices That Launched a Movement”, Time has acknowledged the women who revealed the pervasiveness of sexual harassment and misconduct across industries from film and music to politics.
The movement is closely associated with actress Alyssa Milano, who tweeted in early October in the wake of the Weinstein allegations: “If you've been sexually harassed or assaulted write 'me too' as a reply to this tweet.” It went on to be tweeted nearly a million times in 48 hours by people sharing their stories and denouncing sexual harassment.
Original star Alyssa Milano has shed some light on how the future may look for 'Charmed' fans.
Running for eight seasons between 1998 and 2006, 'Charmed' was one of the most successful shows of its time, and did a fantastic job in bringing Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano and later, Rose McGowan to the small screen, making them all household names with the supernatural series.
If 'Charmed' eventually returns, it'll likely be without the original cast
Earlier this year, it was revealed that The CW would be bringing the series back as a prequel set in 1976, with an all-new cast jumping on board in the hopes of impressing all of the fans who have stayed loyal to the franchise.
