Amanda Bynes’s psychiatric hold has been extended to one whole year, according to TMZ. After the former childstar spent the better part of the last six months providing fodder for gossip columns with her questionable behavior, she was finally detained on a 5150 hold at the end of July. She has remained at a mental health facility since then, with her parents filing for a conservatorship.

Bynes' detainment has been extended.

Now, according to TMZ, Bynes’ doctors have asked the court to extend her stay to a year and their request has been granted. Control over the hold has reportedly been transferred to Bynes’ mother, who is currently the temporary conservator. It is unlikely that the troubled actress will remain at the facility for the entire year, however. TMZ reports that current plans are for Amanda to stay for 60 days, long enough for doctors to stabilize her, and then to be moved to her mother’s home, where she can spend the rest of her detainment.

Amanda is unlikely to spend her entire hold at the psych ward.

Meanwhile, Bynes hasn’t exactly been resting up, while at the unconfirmed psych ward. According to RadarOnline, the actress has been allowed phone calls and she has been using said phone calls to negotiate a record deal for herself. The website spoke to Daniel Herman of Chinga Changa records, who confirmed that he has not budged from his offer to Bynes and has in fact upped the offer – Herman is offering Bynes a $250 000 advance on a record deal, up $50 000 from his original proposal, to help Amanda cover her medical bills. He has justified this eccentric investment by saying: “My record offer to Amanda has not changed one bit in terms of the vision. Part of hip hop is not only struggling, but how one gets out of them. And that is what makes great music!”
