Amanda Bynes took to Twitter last night to seemingly reveal she had been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, before later backtracking and claiming that a friend had written the tweets.

On the 28 year old's official Twitter account, a tweet posted in the early hours of Tuesday morning read, “I was diagnosed bi - polar and manic depressive so I'm on medication and I'm seeing my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly so I'm fine.”

Another tweet then accused the actress' parents of not giving her access to her funds, thus preventing her from being able to get an apartment. “I'm not living with my parents. I’m not legally obligated to,” the tweet read.

"My lawyer said if I comply with the courts and take my meds and see my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly then I will get unconserved.” “Thank GOD,”  it continued.

However hours later another tweet was sent, this time calling the previous revelations into question. “I was at a friends apartment last night and one of my friends tweeted my phone , sorry guys !” Bynes wrote.

Bynes had also deleted tweets sent last night where she claimed her parents were only giving her $50 a day to live on and that she’d been offered a record deal by Interscope.

Last Thursday (October 30th) Bynes was released from the psychiatric facility in Pasadena, California where she had been receiving treatment.

The actress is now said to be trying to overturn a conservatorship which has given her parents control over her money.
