Amanda Seyfried Thinks People Are 'rolling Their Eyes' At Her

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried thinks people are ''rolling their eyes'' at her.

The 31-year-old actress believes the public look at her with disdain just because of her job as an actress, as well as her celebrity status.

Speaking to Stylist magazine, the golden-haired beauty said: ''As an actor, I know people are probably rolling their eyes [at me]. A lot of people are like, 'F**k these celebrities, what do they know?'''

Love The Coopers (aka Christmas With The Coopers) Review

Very Good

This may look like it's going to be a zany Christmas romp, but it's really a warm exploration of family connections, essentially an American take on Love Actually's multi-strand comedy-drama. At least it has an unusually strong cast and moments of hilarity scattered throughout the story. And while it's never very deep, the themes are strongly resonant.

The Cooper family is gathering for what Charlotte (Diane Keaton) hopes will be one last perfect Christmas together. She knows that her 40-year marriage to Sam (John Goodman) is on the brink, but is ignoring that to plan a massive dinner. Their son Hank (Ed Helms) is stinging from divorce and unemployment, while daughter Eleanor (Olivia Wilde) has picked up a hunky soldier (Jake Lacy) in the airport and asks him to pose as her boyfriend so her family will stop asking about her love life. Meanwhile, Charlotte's father Bucky (Alan Arkin) is trying to cheer up his favourite waitress (Amanda Seyfried), and Charlotte's sister Emma (Marisa Tomei) is delayed when a cop (Anthony Mackie) arrests her for shoplifting.

Narrated with wry joviality by Steve Martin, the interwoven stories are fairly simplistic, but each touches a raw nerve. And the above-average cast brings out the underlying themes without overplaying their scenes. Keaton and Goodman add subtle shades to the slightly undemanding central roles, while Arkin finds a couple of new textures to his usual twinkly grandad persona. Helms and Wilde strike the right balance in their intriguingly unlikeable roles, while Tomei gets the most complex character as a woman who feels like she's merely watched her life drift along. By contrast, the outsiders played by Seyfried, Lacy and Mackie are much less defined, but each actor brings just enough magnetic energy. The most wasted performer is June Squibb, as a ditzy old aunt who's little more than the requisite gross-out relative.

Ok, Seth Macfarlane, You've Had Your Fun, Now Where Are We With "Ted 2"?

Seth Macfarlane Mila Kunis Amanda Seyfried

Seth Macfarlane really wants to be a movie star. And we get it, we really do, but that isn’t enough to justify the existence of A Million Ways to Die in the West. Critics are pegging Macfarlane’s latest as “astonishingly lazy” (TIME Magazine) and “altogether wrongheaded” (Film School Rejects) and its overall 34% score on Rotten Tomatoes means that this one is easily skippable.

Seth Macfarlane
Seth Macfarlane's latest wasn't worth the hype.

The only hope Macfarlane has of redeeming himself as a writer and, to an extent, as a director, is for his other project, Ted 2, to be a stellar success. So where are we with that one?

Tina Fey Rachel McAdams Lindsay Lohan Lacey Chabert Amanda Seyfried

Tina Fey has put a stop to all the Mean Girls sequel rumours that have been circulating lately, saying that a follow-up to the oft-quoted 2004 teen hit is out of the question. Fans are largely split between two camps: those who would love to see a sequel with Lindsay Lohan and the original crew, and those who think another film would be laboured, unnecessary and run the risk of damaging the appeal of its predecessor.

Tina Fey
Tina Fey Has Shot Down Rumours Of A 'Mean Girls' Sequel.

The 30 Rock star said that whilst there was an argument for temporarily reuniting the cast - 19th April will mark the film's 10 year anniversary - there was little chance that any plans would be made for another film.

Amanda Seyfried Makes Bold Reveals In Cover Story For Elle

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried is hitting the campaign trail for her upcoming movie Lovelace, and it’s only natural that her interviews these days would be on the riskier side. The 27-year-old actress lends her sultry looks to the cover of Elle magazine this month and, clad in a glittering red bodysuit, she gives up some sizzling details about her personal life to match. Seyfried talks about everything, from her desire to shake up the industry with her latest role (porn star Linda Lovelace marks a departure from previous teeny bopper characters), to her views on relationships and sexual attraction – namely, that the former can’t survive without the latter.

Amanda Seyfried, Epic Premiere
Seyfried is using the chance to reveal some of her own romantic history.

"Everybody I've dated I've been sexually attracted to immediately,” Seyfried begins. ”Sparks don't grow—your vagina doesn't become more inclined to wanting someone just because you're around them."

Amanda Seyfried Goes Deep For Her Role As Linda Lovelace In Porn Star Biopic [Trailer]

Amanda Seyfried James Franco Rob Epstein Jeffrey Friedman

Amanda Seyfried will play Linda Boreman AKA porn star Linda Loveless who shot to porn fame and notoriety after she starred in the hugely successful 1972 movie Deep Throat. Directed by Howl's Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, the biopic follows Lovelace's life between the age of 20 and 32, escaping from a strict religious family in a small town to her abusive and self-titled manager, Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard).

Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried Will Play Linda Loveless In Challenging New Role.

According to Slash Film, the film will reveal Lovelace's "tough, complicated life" as although she was widely an icon of sexual freedom, her husband's abuse and sale into prostitution transformed the once "charming girl-next-door with an impressive capacity for fellatio" into a fierce antiporn activist, writing books on the evils of the porn industry as she told her true story to the world. Written by Trust's (2010) Andy Bellin, The Guardian praises the "handsomely mounted period piece" and admires the range of leads Seyfried and Sarsgaard, whilst HitFix reckons the film plays too safe and "doesn't go deep enough" for their liking in a "bland biopic."

Seth MacFarlane Reunites With Universal For His Second Directorial Effort For The Big Screen

Seth Macfarlane Charlize Theron Liam Neeson Amanda Seyfried Sarah Silverman

As the anticipation for his sophomore film effort builds, Seth McFarlane reunites with Universal to co-write, direct, produce and star in A Million Ways to Die in the West. The studio has just recently come aboard to finance and distribute the western, but it isn’t exactly a risky bid for them, after McFarlane’s big screen debut Ted, starring Mark Wahlberg opposite an animated potty-mouthed teddy bear, became an international smash success and grossed $549 million worldwide. Obviously Hollywood is impressed with McFarlane’s work on Ted, as well as the animated series Family Guy and American Dad! because the writer managed to score some extremely coveted actors to fill the cast of Ways to Die. The list includes Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman and Giovanni Ribisi.

According to Reuters, via Yahoo News, the film will tell the story of a sheep farmer named Albert. And no, the exact premise isn’t known yet, but we mostly have faith in McFarlane’s ability to make this vastly unappealing premise somehow interesting. Plus, a lot of the creators of Ted – notably, producers Scott Stuber and Jason Clark and co-writers Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin – have been drafted in to work on this, so, barring some inevitable for this team crude jokes and cheap laughs, A Million Ways To Die In The West sounds like a pretty promising production. The film is due to be released on May 30, 2014 across American theatres. And for those of you eagerly awaiting Ted 2, do not fret – that’s almost inevitable in the future too, as Universal has bought the rights to both films.

McFarlane is gearing up to prove that his first big screen success wasn't just a fluke.

Who's In Charge Here? - Amanda Seyfried's Pooch Shows Her Who's Boss

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried has been spotted being taken for a walk by her pup Finn, in Los Angeles on Monday. The actress was clearly not the one in charge, as Finn tugged on his lead and directed his owner across the street in LA. At one point, the Daily Mail reports, she looked as though she was giving the pooch a bit of a talking to; presumably she doesn’t like being shown up in public by a Lassie lookalike?

Seyfried probably wasn’t prepared for the cameras either; she was dressed down in a grey t shirt, a pair of ripped jeans and some laced-up pumps – looks very much to us like she’s enjoying a spot of down time before her work diary heats up again. She’s got three films planned for release this year, which means she’ll be doing a whole lot of travelling in order to fulfil the inevitable promo duties that come with movie releases. First up, she’s scheduled to appear in the animated movie Epic, along with Jason Sudeikis and Steven Tyler, before gracing our screens in comic drama Pete and Goat – described on imdb.com as “an adventurous road trip” movie. Then she’ll play the title role in The Girl Who Conned The Ivy League, which is currently in development.

Hopefully keeping busy will allow her to forget a terrible incident that happened to her recently… being mistaken for Lindsay Lohan. Terrifying stuff for any actress trying to retain some dignity in the madness of Hollywood.

Celebrity Lookalikes? Amanda Seyfried Mistaken For Lindsay Lohan At Airport

Amanda Seyfried Lindsay Lohan

Could you mistake Amanda Seyfried for Lindsay Lohan?

Sure, at one point, both actresses were blonde, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Still, some fans can miss the distinction once in a while, as a tweet from Seyfried on Thursday proves: "I just got mistaken for a Ms. Lohan at Newark Airport." This then prompted a little humorous exchange with one of Seyfried’s Twitter followers, Warner Bros. VP for production, Sarah Shechter.

"I do that all the time when I see you," Shechter tweeted.

Is 'Veronica Mars' Kickstarter Cash A Game Changer For The Movie Business?

Kristen Bell Amanda Seyfried

The CW's acclaimed teen noir drama 'Veronica Mars' is coming back with a bang. When showrunner Rob Thomas announced a Kickstarter project to find $2 million for a feature film, many fans of the best-loved series were probably quietly optimistic, though little more. However, by 8.30am on Thursday, the prospect of a Veronica Mars movie starring original stars Kristen Bell and Amanda Seyfriend was a very real proposition having collected $2.5 million from pledgers.

Getting funding through Kickstarter is becoming a viable option for creative types looking to make their first movie, or record their first album, though Veronica Mars is the largest film the website has ever helped launch. The show's star, Kristin Bell was unequivocal, "If we reach our fundraising goal, we'll shoot the movie this summer," she said. In the pitch video for the movie, the original stars of the series wander around Bell's Hollywood home, wondering how they would make a Veronica Mars movie.

Other success stories on the fundraising website include Amanda Palmer - the lead singer of The Dresden Dolls - who raised over $1 million to cut her Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra album, despite seeking just $100,000. Elsewhere, video-game Wasteland 2 was funded by Kickstarter, to the tune of $2,933,252. The post-apocalyptic game - originally released by Electronic Arts - is set for release later this year.

Yeah sure, so winning The Oscars is pretty important, but don't kid yourself too much, it's what people are wearing on the Oscars red carpet that really interests the punters. This year's awards saw relatively few fashion mishaps, though on the other hand also lacked anyone really taking a chance with their outfit - understandable, perhaps, given the scale of the public platform they were all appearing on.

Returning from the premiere of her new film Lovelace at the Berlin Film Festival, Amanda Seyfried was caught by the paparazzi as she landed at the airport to support Les Miserables, which has seven nominations including Best Picture. She signed autographs as she was ushered through the arrivals hall by her aggressive security team.

The press also caught up with Jennifer Lawrence as she made her way through the Los Angeles airport. She's the favourite to win Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and was also rushed through the arrivals hall while photographers snapped pictures. She managed to sign a few autographs along the way, and one of her minders can be seen putting her luggage in the back of her car, including a teddy bear.

Amanda Seyfried causes a mini riot at LAX Airport in Los Angeles after arriving back from a recent trip to Germany. The Les Miserables actress, wearing dark shades, is hounded by photographers and autograph hunters in the arrivals terminal whilst being ushered to her waiting car outside. Amanda had been in Germany for the premiere of her new movie Lovelace at the Berlin Film Festival. Rob Epstein's movie, also starring Peter Sarsgaard, stars Seyfried as the late porn actress Linda Lovelace.

Jennifer Lawrence, SAG AwardsDespite A Wardrobe Malfunction, Jennifer Lawrence Looked Stunning At The SAG Awards

It was Ben Affleck and Argo who stole the headlines after the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Santa Monica this weekend, with the Iranian hostage movie taking the evening's top award. The SAG's are usually more casual than the Academy Awards though are generally considered a trial run for the Oscars, perhaps more so than the Golden Globes. Should the SAGs predict the winners on February 24, 2013, then Argo, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence will be among the triumphant nominees.

Anyway, let's not concern ourselves with awards, because the Screen Actors Guild Awards attracted a fine flurry of stylish dresses and elegant gowns. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how nasty you are) most of the movie stars got it right with their ensembles, with Marion Cotillard, Kerry Washington, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence making it a successful night for the big-hitters. The latter suffered a minor wardrobe malfunction when taking to the stage to collect her award, though her Dior gown was one of the evening's showstoppers.

No Clothes, No Problem: Amanda Seyfried Admits To Being Unfazed By Nudie Shots In New Film

Amanda Seyfried Peter Sarsgaard Sharon Stone Hank Azaria James Franco

Amanda Seyfried's next role will see her portray one of the adult film industry's most famous (and tragic) stars in her next film and as you'd imagine, some of the scenes involved the actress rather scantily clad, if not completely nude. Fortunately for Seyfried though, she told Indiewire that she is a-okay with the scenes, and to be perfectly honest so are we (sorry).

The Les Miserables star will be portraying Linda Lovelace, who shot to porn-land fame and rest of the world notoriety when she stared in the 1972 film Deep Throat (no prizes for guessing what it's about). Seyfried admitted to the movie blog that although the nude scenes she and co-star Peter Sarsgaard are involved in were "a little strange," she was still rather unaffected by the whole thing, saying: "[Peter and I] are not shy about our private parts. We also weren't walking around with our genitals out; our bottom half genitals. That might have been a little strange for me. I don't really have any interest in people seeing my vagina. It's just a personal thing. I don't mind seeing other people's vaginas."

"Sex; we all do it," the star refreshingly added, before going on to discuss how she handled the more intimate scenes of the film (she used an icicle) and why she considers Mean Girls her best work still. You'll have to check out the full interview on Indiewire to find out more.

Les Mis Saved Amanda Seyfried From Trauma Of Linda Lovelace Role

Amanda Seyfried Peter Sarsgaard Linda Lovelace

Amanda Seyfried was so deeply involved with the character of Linda Lovelace when she filmed the adult movie star’s biopic, that she was grateful for her role in Les Miserables, for allowing her to escape her emotional involvement with the role. Reporting from the Sundance Festival, where Lovelace is debuting, Fox News reveal that the experience was an intense one for the 27 year-old.

“I had a hard time letting go of Linda at the end of the movie," she said. "I had a really intense time with (co-star) Peter Sarsgaard. I think we both had a hard time letting go because we went to these places. He played a man who consistently beat his wife. And I played a woman who was raped and abused, psychologically and physically. I was constantly taking my clothes off. I didn't have an issue with that. She had an issue with that. So it was a lot. And the only thing that helped was getting onto Les Mis." Sarsgaard plays the role of Chuck Traynor, Linda’s abusive husband.

Seyfried also revealed that there’s more to Linda Lovelace than many may expect. “this woman had a fascinating story,” insists Seyfried. “There are things that a lot of people don't know. People have an idea of her. It's very one-dimensional." The movie has been snapped up by the Weinstein Co.’s Radius label for a reported $3 million so it won’t be long before we can all make our own minds up about the seemingly tragic tale.

'Risky But It Appealed To Me': Amanda Seyfried Challenges Herself Starring As Porn Actor In 'Lovelace'

Amanda Seyfried Sharon Stone Juno Temple Peter Sarsgaard James Franco

Amanda Seyfriend is fast becoming darling of Hollywood. From humble, though hilarious beginnings in Mean Girls, she moved on to the sweeter than sweet role of Sophie Sheridan in the multi-award winning Mamma Mia!, and to playing Cosette in another extraordinarily successful musical, Les Miserables. Having played such classical or humorous roles, her starring appearance as Linda Lovelace in 'Lovelace' seems a little out of kilter, but as she told the BBC, it was a challenge she couldn't resist.

"It is risky and people did not stop reminding me of that. But I also really wanted a challenge. It appealed to me in that way," she said. Lovelace is about Linda Lovelace, the star of the 1970s porn film Deep Throat in which Lovelace played a woman skilled in "a very advanced form of fellatio," as the Guardian puts it. Lovelace became hot property in the porn market, but when she released her biography in the '80s she portrayed her life as one wrought by an abusive marriage to a man who used hypnosis to force her to make pornography.

Clearly, Lovelace's story was a traumatic one and, while Seyfried said she wanted a challenge, she was perhaps not quite ready for the depth of the challenge that she was embarking on. "I had a hard time letting go of Linda at the end of the movie," she said. "I went places that I couldn't get out of." Also appearing in Lovelace are Sharon Stone, Peter Sarsgaard (playing Lovelace's abusive husband, Chuck Traynor), Chloe Sevigny, Juno Temple, Chris Noth and James Franco. Reviews from its Sundance Film Festival premier have been largely positive, though quisitive. It is expected to reach cinemas in July.

The Hobbit Top At The Box Office Once Again

Peter Jackson Anne Hathaway Amanda Seyfried The Hobbit

The Hobbit, which wasn’t much of a favorite with critics upon its release, has continued to dominate the box office for the third week straight.

The hit prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy has been a massive hit domestically, grossing over $222 million since its release, and even a bigger hit abroad, with almost double that profit - $400 million in sales. According to distributor Warner Bros, this past weekend has seen Peter Jackson’s blockbuster raise just under $33 million, placing it firmly on top of the box office charts, ahead of a number of blockbusters this season, such as Quentin Tarantino’s controversial Django Unchained, which came in second after the weekend with just under $31 million. Django has made about $64 million, solidifying its place as a rather unusual holiday blockbuster.

Rounding out the top three came Les Miserables, which, with $28 million didn’t do quite as well as its huge critical acclaim had hinted at. Still, the adaptation, featuring Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried, managed to rake in a respectable $67 million over its six-day run so far. If there is one conclusion we can all draw from this it is that people love to spend cash at the movies over the holiday season. Who would have thought!

Les Miserables Well On The Way Towards Oscar Success

Tom Hooper Hugh Jackman Anne Hathaway Amanda Seyfried

With awards seasons fast approaching it seems almost certain now that Tom Hooper’s adaptation of Les Miserables will nab several Oscar nominations, if not a couple of the coveted awards.

Best Picture maybe? Is it too early to speculate? Not at all, with Les Miz already having received several Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations. According to the LA Times, the picture has been making quite the rounds, having been screened numerous times for guild and academy members alike and generating positive reviews every time. It might be an easy win, with a classic Broadway favorite like this – the songs and the storyline were already there to be readily exploited.

The challenge with this one, however, was to adapt it to the tastes of a modern audience, one not quite used to having their film interrupted by show tunes every five minutes. To his credit, Tom Hooper has certainly succeeded in doing this, which is no doubt due, at least in part, to the star-studded cast featuring A-list names such as Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Hugh Jackman. Fans of Jackman will already know that the actor has quite a few Broadway productions under his belt, which makes him the perfect choice for the adaptation. Despite generally unfavorable reviews from critics, it looks like Jackman’s Best Actor nomination is all but secure, as is Hooper’s Best Director. As for winning, that will probably come down to the wire, with several big hits of the year competing in each of the categories.

Les Miserables Premiered Last Night At Glamorous New York Event

Anne Hathaway Hugh Jackman Amanda Seyfried

The film adaptation of the iconic Les Miserables had its glamorous premiere at Midetown’s Zeitgeist Theater last night. The film has been highly anticipated and has received mostly positive reviews so far. As with all adaptations, fans of the original will probably either love it or hate it. The actors themselves, however, had nothing but good things to say about working on the film with director Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech).

“It’s my favorite Broadway show and I was obsessed with it”, commented actress Amanda Seyfried, who plays the part of Cosette in the adaptation. Anne Hathaway, who has taken on the role of Cosette’s mother, Fantine, sounded equally excited about the film. For the demanding role, she had to go on a crash diet and lose 25 pounds, but it was all worth it, at least if the initial reviews are anything to go by. The other stars of the film, Hugh Jackman and Russel Crowe, also attested to the fact that working on Les Mis has been an exhausting experience, but ultimately worth it.

A lot effort has gone into the film’s marketing as well, with the stars having traveled around the world for the past month to attend promotional events for the film. All of these reached their culmination at last night’s glamorous premiere.

Amanda Seyfried Wouldn't Act On Stage For Fears Of Exhaustion

Amanda Seyfried Hugh Jackman

Amanda Seyfried revealed that she can't see herself doing any stage theatre anytime soon, despite recently completing musical movie 'Les Miserables'.

The 'Mean Girls' star was at the London premiere for the Victor Hugo story when she told the Telegraph of her theatrical doubts. "I'd like to do it, but I just don't see myself on stage singing', she explained at the Odeon Leicester Square. 'I don't think I'm capable, or have that kind of stamina to be on stage every night. I really doubt I will, ever." It's certainly surprising that she should feel this way given that 'Les Mis' was not the first onscreen musical she has appeared in. In 2008 we saw her take on the lead role of Sophie in the hit ABBA inspired flick 'Mamma Mia!'. Though in spite of her credentials, she has claimed that she would also find it a huge struggle to overcome her stage fright due to her history of frequent panic attacks. "I get nervous, especially if it is something big, like London shows, but I'm working at it", she said.

As for not having stamina, it's a wonder how Amanda even managed to get through the 'Les Mis' filming judging by what her co-stars have said about it. Her onscreen mother, Anna Hathaway who plays Fantine, found it particularly gruelling to lose weight for the role as she had to look as though she was ill with tuberculosis, and that's not to mention her distress at having to chop all her hair off as well. Another co-star, Hugh Jackman, also described his experience on set as 'harrowing' and 'emotional' because he also had to lose dramatic amounts of weight. You think theatre actors have it tough, eh Amanda?

Given that all it needed was for the bulk of the cast to turn up to make it a truly star-studded premiere, it was no surprise that the London opening of the Tom Hooper directed Les Miserables had a turn out that could be match by almost no other. With the likes of Gillian Anderson, Ellie Goulding, Steven Fry and Idris Elba looking on, the center stage was undoubtedly taken by stars of the movie Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Helena Bonham Carter.

Anne Hathaway On Husband Adam: He's A Good Man, Beyond Intelligent

Anne Hathaway Russell Crowe Hugh Jackman Amanda Seyfried

Adam Hathaway has been using her publicity tour for Les Miserables to promote the virtues of her husband Adam Shulman, whom the actress referred to as her "other half". Hathaway - tipped to win an Oscar for Tom Hooper's new musical-drama - tied the knot with fellow actor Shulman, 31, in September.

Speaking to the January issue of Glamour magazine, she explained, "He's a good man. He's beyond intelligent. He loves fearlessly. His beliefs are beautiful. He's my best friend. I love him. I just feel that I have the greatest husband in the world for me." The actress has been married once before, though the relationship ended in acrimony after her real estate scam artist husband Raffaello Follieri was sentenced to over 4 years in prison and has since been deported for cheating investors and falsely claiming he had connections to the Vatican. Unsurprisingly, Hathaway is much happier with West Wing star Shulman, gushing, "I would never have gotten married if it weren't for him.You have to want to be married to someone. You have to feel that reciprocated. Marriage for marriage's sake doesn't make any sense to me, and I found someone with whom I could put my money where my mouth is, I guess."

Oscar tipped Les Miserables hits cinemas in the U.S. on December 25, 2012. It also stars Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried.
