Amber Heard, the 24-year-old American actress and star of movies 'Pineapple Express' and 'Zombieland', publically came out as a lesbian this weekend and was photographed together with her girlfriend of two years, the photographer TASYA VAN REE, reports the New York Daily News.
Heard and Van Ree made their red-carpet debut as a couple at the GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) 25th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles, and speaking about the organisation the actress told AfterEllen.com, "I think GLAAD is one of the many reasons that I, as a 24-year-old, can come out. I hate the idea of a label just as much as anyone else but I'm with who I'm with, I love who I love and I'm if not a better actress than I was yesterday and my personal life should have no effect on that".
The 24-year-old went on to say that if she had continued to hide her sexuality, she would have been admitting that it was wrong. Heard also revealed that she and Van Ree have been together since 2008, adding, "She's so beautiful. I mean, you'd have to be crazy not to want to go out with her!" The actress is set to play Johnny Depp's love interest in the forthcoming movie 'The Rum Diary', based on the novel by gonzo journalist Hunter S Thompson.
