Sometimes even American Idol graduates aren’t immune to disaster – case in point, Scotty Mccreery, the Idol alum, who became the victim of a home invasion early on Monday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McCreery, who won American Idol’s tenth season, was robbed at gunpoint at his home I Raleigh, C.N. yesterday. He and his friends were threatened and robbed by three men, who entered the home just before 2 a.m. on Monday morning.

The Idol alum had just finished his exams and was planning a nationwide tour.

The suspects reportedly took cash, wallets and electronic items. The apartment did not belong to McCreery, said the report. McCreery had just finished his second year at North CarolinaState, the report said. He was on a break after finishing his exams. He is just going back on tour this Friday, starting in Bakersfield, California. The 20-year-old reality star chose to report the crime on Facebook and Twitter early on Tuesday.

"Yes, it was definitely a very scary night. Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case," he wrote. "I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank-you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case."
