Slash, Sheila E And Longoria Help Lopez Celebrate Final Show

  • 12 August 2011

Slash and Sheila E helped funnyman George Lopez end his late-night chat show run on a high note on Thursday (11Aug11) when they joined his house band for his final episode.
The guitarist and percussionist were starry additions to Michael Bearden and The Ese Vatos throughout the show, and they had a little fun at the expense of TV bosses at Tbs, who cancelled the programme, by performing the family-unfriendly version of Cee Lo Green's F**k You.
The first guest on Lopez's final show was fellow Latino star Eva Longoria, whose TV drama Desperate Housewives will start its final season in September (11).
She joked, "When you started the show, we were both married."
Longoria divorced her husband Tony Parker last year (10), the same year Lopez split from his wife Ann.
The funnyman added, "We were both employed and married and now we're both unemployed Latinos and divorced."
It was a full-circle show for Longoria - she appeared in the pilot for Lopez Tonight, which secured the comedian the late night show in 2009.
