Adele Thankful To Wintour For Style Overhaul

Adele will be forever grateful to Anna Wintour for giving her a style makeover, because the legendary Vogue editor helped the singer fall in love with fashion.
The British soul sensation covered up her shapely figure in baggy sweaters and coats when she first hit the music scene with her hit debut album 19 in 2008, and was terrified when Wintour asked to style her for the 2009 Grammy awards.
The Chasing Pavements hitmaker insists the magazine boss isn't as scary as many presume - and she is thankful for the makeover as it introduced her to dressmaker Barbara Tfank, who is now a regular collaborator.
She tells Britain's Grazia magazine, "Anna Wintour was lovely. Nothing like I'd feared before I met her. I was expecting Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada. Anna was wonderfully articulate and really friendly. She turned me into a lady, and she introduced me to Barbara Tfank who made my Grammys dress, and who has continued to make me pieces for videos and shows, and more recently my outfit for the Royal Variety Performance.
"I felt a bit awkward at first, when I had an 'Anna Wintour makeover'. I couldn't walk in the shoes so I ended up wandering around the Grammys barefoot. But after a while, the more Barbara and I kept working together, I started to enjoy fashion. Once I'd discovered what I like and what suits me, I've kept that look up to an extent."
