Rock Stars Help Striking Grocery Workers

Former RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE star [Tom Morello](https://www.contactmusic.com/tom-morello) and [System Of A Down](https://www.contactmusic.com/system-of-a-down)'s [Serj Tankian](https://www.contactmusic.com/serj-tankian) are offering striking grocery workers in California a little Christmas cheer after hastily organising a benefit concert.

Grocery workers in Los Angeles have been locked out of big stores ever since they went on strike in October (03) in a fight over a reduction of their benefits.

And, with many of them facing a grim Christmas, the two rock activists organised a benefit show to raise cash for them.

The duo were joined by [Slipknot](https://www.contactmusic.com/slipknot)'s [Corey Taylor](https://www.contactmusic.com/corey-taylor) and cult Los Angeles group [Phantom Planet](https://www.contactmusic.com/phantom-planet) among others at a concert last night (18DEC03).

Morello says, "The proceeds will go to the grocery store workers to help them buy presents for their kids."
