Double EMMY Award winner [William H Macy](https://www.contactmusic.com/william-h-macy) was so determined to get into shape for his new movie [The Cooler](https://www.contactmusic.com/the-cooler) he almost ripped his arm off.

The FARGO star hit the gym in a desperate attempt to buff up for love scenes with [Maria Bello](https://www.contactmusic.com/maria-bello) in the gambling movie - and ended up in agony.

He says, "I fooled myself into thinking I could firm up before the big scenes, so I tried to squeeze six months of exercise into six days.

"My rotator cuff is still not back to normal."
