By the time you've begun to pigeonhole this little number into a comfortable niche of sensitive, plaintive indie rock, the chorus kicks in like a metaphorical rabbit punch. Slick production emphasises the huge guitars, insanely hooky choruses and driving rhythms.
This is the perfect antidote to the 'emperor's new clothes' trend that so many bands seem to follow these days, with bands hyped before they seem to have played a note.
This is a genuine slice of pop brilliance – it even clocks in at exactly three minutes. If this single cut is anything to judge The Academy Is by, then good things are to come. Feel good hit of the summer!
