Charlie Kaufman's is best know for his wonderful script writing for 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and 'Being John Malkovich' now he makes his directorial debut with 'Synecdoche, New York'.

Caden Cotard lives in the ordinary, nothing about his life stands out, his wife has left him and taken his daughter to Berlin, he's got a mystery illness no doctor can figure out and his job at the theatre hasn't given him any inspiration for years. Worried his life is going no where, Caden gets together a cast for a new play which will be work of brutal honesty. Weeks turn into months and months into years as Caden buries himself into his work. His reality becomes warped between life and what's going on in the theatre.
