When Clyde Shelton's wife and young daughter are brutally murdered, he expects justice will prevail and the caught killers will be sentenced to death row. Nick Rice is Shelton's lawyer, the man Clyde believes will help with his cause and get the highest possible sentence for the crime committed, however a few days before the end of the trail, Rice cuts a deal with one of the killers sparing him the heavy sentence.

10 years later, Shelton takes his revenge on the murderer. With the killer found dead, Shelton is quick to admit to the murder and follows on his confession with a pledge, he will kill everyone involved with the trail of his wife and daughter from inside prison unless justice is brought. Rice and Shelton engage in a battle of wits, Shelton seems to constantly be one step ahead of Rice, things must change if the murders are to stop.
