Remy and Jake are best friends, they work and play together, their job is a gruesome one, they are the repo men sent to collect the mechanical organs from people who are unable to pay The Union a highly powerful company who design and manufacture the organs. When Remy suffers with heart failure whilst at work he awakes in a hospital bed and finds the company have fitted him with one of their hearts. Aware that he is now liable for huge debts Remy wants the heart removed but it's not possible.

Feeling the pressure to pay back The Union but unable to mentally continue his job as a repo man, Remy decides to run. He knows the likelihood that they will send the best repo man (his ex-partner ) to capture him. Facing the harsh reality his future will bring, Remy turns to Beth another debtor who teaches him how to escape from the system.
