What becomes of the human soul after our time in this life had ended? A lot of people who lose a loved one find themselves asking that very question, and further they wish to know that their loved one is safe in the afterlife.

George Lonnegan is a clairvoyant, not a fraud, a person with a legitimate gift - he's able to speak with the dead. For many years he's made a living from using his gift and giving people who need it genuine contact with loved ones. This was the case until recently when he had to quit, the stress of learning often distressing family secrets eventually became too much for him to cope with.

Whilst George's personal plight continues he runs into people who require his help, feeling obliged to continue with his decision not to connect with the afterlife, he rejects everyone who asks but he's become too well known. Heading to London for a fresh start is exactly what he needs, but will his reputation precede him and can he ever truly run away from his calling?
