Jack is an an assassin, his job sends him all over the world. Deciding to take some time out, he retreats to a lake in Sweden but given the nature of his job Jack always seems to have a target painted on his back and once again a sniper attempts to kill him.

Fleeing to Italy, Jack contacts his employer who requests he carries out one final mission - building a gun for a woman named Mathilde - and then he will be free to live a life of anonymity. Agreeing to the terms Jack accepts the deal and beings work on the rifle.

Now living in Castel del Monte and posing as a photographer Jack strikes two unlikely friendships, one with a local priest and the other with a prostitute names Clara. As his friendship with the priest grows he pressures Jack into seeking absolution whilst his feelings for Clara develop into something much stronger but how will Jack escape his current life that's filled with danger.
