After Noah Jaybird is suspended from college, he ends up living back at home with his mother, where all he does is sit and watch TV. At his mother's insistence he starts looking for jobs in town but to no avail. Finally his mother recommends babysitting and after refusing, Noah reluctantly takes up an offer of babysitting the kids next door.

The children in question belong to the busty Mrs Pedulla, something that greatly pleases Noah. That is, until he meets her children: quiet and bookish Slater; ten year old gangster rap fan Blithe and an exchange student, Rodrigo. The children take an instant dislike to Noah, who has no idea what he should be doing.

One night, Noah's girlfriend rings him up from a party. Noah initially tells her he won't be able to make it but when she bribes him with sex, he agrees. Not knowing what to do with the three children, he takes them along to the very grown up party. Along the way, Noah meets insistent drug dealers who chase him through town and give Slater, Blithe and Rodrigo a night they won't forget in a hurry.
