Ant and Dec look to be taking over telly with TWO shows up for Entertainment Programme gong.

The UK's favourite presenting duo, Ant and Dec, are stand-out favourites on telly this year with the 2014 National Television Awards nominating two of their reality shows for an award.

The duo won't only be up for Entertainment Presenter(s) of the year - a prize they have won for 12 years running - but they are also in with a chance of collecting gongs for two shows they have been presenting over the years. Their entertainment variety show 'Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' will be up against jungle reality show 'I'm A Celebrity. Albums of Note... Dave Grohl managed to rally a group of rock’s big players together to record an album designed to accompany his Sound City documentary – about the legendary LA recording studio of the same name. Amongst the stars making an appearance on Sound City: Real to Reel are Sir Paul McCartney, Josh Homme and Stevie Nicks; the latter of whom provides one of the album’s highlights:

“[The] tracks that do command attention… are worth wading through the mire for. One can only assume, for instance, that Lindsay Buckingham and the rest of Fleetwood Mac will be kicking themselves upon hearing 'You Can't Fix This,' because this is simply the greatest Fleetwood Mac song that never was.”

Various Artists - 'Dermot O'Leary Presents The Saturday Sessions 2013' Album Review

By Alex Lai in Music Reviews on 28 February 2013

Using a tried-and-tested formula of acoustic versions and covers, this most recent instalment of the series sees further performances for Dermot O'Leary's radio show now available to own. The artists included cover a broad spectrum, from near-unknowns to arena fillers, and predictably results vary from the terrific to the terrible.

A brave and successful take on 'Eleanor Rigby' from Emeli Sande begins proceedings, while Will Young reminds us of his vocal talent on a lovely rendition of Blondie's 'Hanging On The Telephone'. The classic Jackson 5 number 'I Want You Back' loses its magic in the hands (or should that be voice?) of Rachel Sermanni, but the running is immediately rescued by The Do taking on Kings Of Leon's 'Sex On Fire'. They morph the rock anthem into a chill-out moment and in vocalist Olivia Merilahti have a fantastic talent. Of those presenting their own material, Florence + The Machine and Jessie J give solid presentations of 'Never Let Me Go' and 'Price Tag' respectively, while Robbie Williams' altered performance of 'Candy' does well to take it away from sounding like an advertising jingle and make it a folk-style sing-a-long.

An ill-advised attempt at Blur's 'Song 2' from Plan B begins the second disc in horrendous manner, something that becomes all the more surprising once you hear the beautifully soulful version of 'Empire State Of Mind' gifted by Maverick Sabre. Miles Kane gives a decent rendition of The 'Stones 'Play With Fire' before Dry The River provide a highlight of this release with a lovely cover of 'Homeward Bound', originally by Simon & Garfunkel. A trio of British bands close out this record and, for an act with such a fierce live reputation, Kasabian's 'Days Are Forgotten' is limp to say the least. By contrast, the Manic Street Preachers bring a raucous 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' and Athlete provide a stirring 'Wires' - a worthy selection as the latter book-end.

After 14 years of broadcasting, the beloved TV format T4 has been axed by it's umbrella company, C4. The channel has cited declining figures of T4 due to the massive rise in viewers for one of the network's other channels, E4 which is now the highest rated channels for 16-34 year olds.

Reported on DailyMail.com, Dominic Bird, who is Head of Formatting at C4 said:'Whilst T4 has historically been a much loved destination for our young audiences, its popularity has been incrementally diminished over time by the digital revolution. In a landscape where Channel 4 now provides E4, the nation’s most popular channel for 16 -34 year olds... T4 has been fighting incredibly hard maintain the cut through it once enjoyed and now is the right time to look at more appropriate ways to serve our younger viewers.'
