Norman Babcock is an unpopular kid who has a strange ability: he can talk to the dead. Normally, this unusual talent wouldn't come in useful in everyday life but Norman lives in a town that has a centuries old curse put on it.

One creepy night, the curse comes into effect and the town is soon taken over by zombies. Only Norman can save the town's destruction by talking to the zombies but it will take all of his abilities and more. He will also have to deal with witches and ghosts that are on the loose and, perhaps worst of all, stupid adults.

Paranorman is Laika's second stop motion animation film, after 2009's critically acclaimed film, Coraline, which starred Dakota Fanning in the title role. Paranorman is directed by Sam Fell (Flushed Away & The Tale of Despereaux) and features the voices of Casey Affleck and Anna Kendrick. The film is set to premiere in August 2012.
