Drew Boley is an aspiring rocker who works as a busboy in The Bourbon Room, a club in Hollywood. He falls for a new waitress called Sherrie, who has moved from Kansas in the hopes of making it in Hollywood.

The club owner, Dennis Dupree, learns that there are plans to demolish The Bourbon Room, in order to introduce 'clean living' into the area (The Bourbon Room is well known for its seediness). Dennis comes up with the idea to let popular rock band, Arsenal, perform their last show at the club, which would bring more money in. The frontman of Arsenal, Stacee Jaxx, is extremely popular amongst his female fans.

However, there are some who are opposed to this idea and protest outside the club. Drew manages to secure a slot opening for Arsenal. Meanwhile, his budding relationship with Sherrie is on the rocks. Can he fulfil his dream and keep the girl?
