Timberlake's doctor ordered him to pull out of his MSG show on Wednesday.

Justin Timberlake was forced to cancel his show at Madison Square Garden this week because he’s suffering from “severely bruised” vocal cords.

The 37 year old star is currently plugging his latest Man of the Woods solo album, and had been set to play New York’s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night (October 24th). However, with just hours to go before stage time, Timberlake took to social media to tell him that he had decided to cancel the show on the advice of his doctor.

“Hey guys, I’m sorry to announce I have to postpone the show at MSG tonight on doctor’s orders. My vocal cords are severely bruised,” the singer revealed on Instagram. “I’m gonna make this up to you and the new show will be on my birthday.”

Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl LII Prince Tribute Gets Mixed Response

By Holly Williams in Music / Festivals on 05 February 2018

Justin Timberlake Prince

Did he go against the late singer's wishes?

Justin Timberlake's eagerly anticipated halftime show at Super Bowl LII has become the subject of some controversy after his tribute to Prince seemingly went against the late singer's wishes for his legacy. It wasn't the hologram that was previously suggested, but it came close.

When fans heard that Justin and his team were thinking of a holographic tribute to the deceased legend for the halftime show, given that the Super Bowl LII game was being held in his hometown of Minneapolis, there was an outpouring of opposition towards it. Drummer Sheila E., a close friend of Prince, was one of the most vocal about it.

Justin Timberlake has admitted he has accepted being known as a pop artist, but it motivated him to make music that just feels right to him

Justin Timberlake admitted he was inspired to be open with his music after realising he may not shake his 'pop star' label.

The 'SexyBack' singer was initially a little disappointed when reviews for his 2002 debut solo album 'Justified' kept him in the more mainstream genre despite his efforts in pushing for a more R&B-influenced sound after his time with boy band Nsync.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on 'Beats 1', he said: ''I was like, 'Wow I really made an R&B album.' I really wanted to make an R&B album.

Justin Timberlake Recalls Super Bowl 'Wardrobe Malfunction'

By Ed Biggs in Music / Festivals on 18 January 2018

Justin Timberlake Janet Jackson

Timberlake was involved in the infamous Janet Jackson 'wardrobe malfunction' back in 2004.

Ahead of his upcoming headlining spot at the Super Bowl half-time show, Justin Timberlake has recalled the infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ incident with Janet Jackson that happened the last time he took part in it.

In a hilarious but rather shocking incident during the 2004 Super Bowl’s half-time performance, Timberlake ripped off the right panel of Janet Jackson’s bodice costume, but instead of showing a red lace bra, the choreography went wrong and her breast was revealed to a stunned audience of 14 million viewers – and that was just in the States.

Although both artists apologised profusely for the incident, infamously branded a ‘wardrobe malfunction’, it was Jackson who got heavily fined and then blacklisted by American radio and MTV.

Justin Timberlake's Promised New Song 'Filthy' Is A Total Curveball

By Holly Mosley in Music / Festivals on 05 January 2018

Justin Timberlake

It's nothing like the country vibe we were anticipating.

Whatever we were expecting from Justin Timberlake, it's safe to say we weren't expecting this. Far from a departure of his usual pop sound, the singer has reverted to type with his brand new song 'Filthy' - and it's about as far away from the country sound he hinted at as you can get.

Image caption Justin Timberlake at the PGA Awards

'Filthy' is very much 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' Justin Timberlake rather than the country-focused sound we were expecting from his forthcoming new album 'Man of the Woods'. Co-written by Timbaland, Danja, James Fauntleroy and Lawrence Dopson, the track comes alongside a very futuristic video.

Timbaland Believed In SexyBack

By Clive King in Music / Festivals on 04 January 2018

Timbaland Justin Timberlake

Timbaland has suggested he had to win over some of Justin Timberlake's team when he worked on the production for his chart topping 2006 single 'SexyBack'

Timbaland has admitted he had to win people over with Justin Timberlake's 2006 hit 'SexyBack'.

The super producer was behind the desk for the singer's lead single - taken from his second album 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' - and while he immediately believed in the track, others weren't so sure.

Speaking to the 'Complex's Blueprint' video series, he said: ''I knew it was a feeling. Everybody was like, 'That ain't it.' I said, 'Yes, it is, that's the one' ... The beauty of a hit is not knowing it's a hit but you know it feels good.''
