Gene Simmons Rules Out A Full KISS Reunion

By Clive King in Music / Festivals on 14 July 2016

KISS frontman Gene Simmons has poured cold water on rumours the original KISS line up - including former guitarist Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss - will reunite.

Gene Simmons has ruled out a reunion of the original Kiss line-up.

The 66-year-old rocker shut down speculation that a recent collaboration between the 'Lick It Up' hitmaker's former guitarist Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley signalled return of the founding members.

When quizzed on the rumours, he said: ''No, that means nothing. We've tried that. Ace and Peter [Criss, original KISS drummer] came into the band and were thrown out three different times because of drugs and alcohol. I mean, how many strikes do you want? And to new fans, it means nothing.''

KISS Guitarist Ace Frehley's NY Home Goes Up In Flames

The guitarist KISS'ed his house goodbye as it was heavily damaged in a blaze

Former-Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley has suffered an unwelcomed holiday surprise after his home in the New York suburb of Yorktown Heights erupted in flames on Saturday (14 Dec.) afternoon. The property belonging to the axe-man was ravaged by a blaze that ran through most of the house, with The Journal News first reporting the fire.

Frehley has either worked as a soloist or part of various bands since leaving KISS

Fortunately, Frehley was not at home when the fire began, with his whereabouts still unspecified. A neighbour told the paper that a caretaker had been living in the house whilst Frehley was away, however it hasn't been reported whether the caretaker was in the NY house at the time of the blaze. The house had also been used by the Red Cross as an emergency residence whilst Frehley wasn't at home, but it is believed that the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Ace Frehley's Home Facing Foreclosure After Late Mortgage Payments?

Ace Frehley is facing foreclosure on his New York home.

Ace Frehley's home in New York is facing foreclosure after the KISS rocker allegedly fell behind on his mortgage payments. The guitarist has not paid the mortgage on his Yorktown pad since March 1, 2011, leading bosses at the U.S. Bank National Association to take immediate action against the musician, reports local publication LoHud.com.

Executives filed legal papers on February 15, 2013, asking a court to order a sale of the house to cover the outstanding balance, which currently amounts to $703,582 plus interest, late fees and other expenses. Frehley - a multi-millionaire - has also fallen behind on the property's county, town and school taxes. He owes $18,558 stemming from the years 2011 and 2012. It's difficult to image Frehley is in any real financial difficulties - he's probably just forgot to pay the mortgage. And his taxes. According to The Richest.org, the KISS man has a net worth of around $35 million. We really don't think he's going to have sell his place to pay the money due on the mortgage.

Ace played as the 'Spaceman' in KISS from the band's inception until his departure in 1982, enjoying a solo career before re-joining Gene Simmons band for a hugely successful reunion tour in 1996. Frehley released his autobiography, No Regrets, in 2011.
