Pauley Perrette Wedding Delayed Until Gay Ban Is Lifted

  • 13 December 2011

Ncis star Pauley Perrette insists she won't marry her fiance Thomas Arklie until Proposition 8 - California's gay marriage ban - is lifted. A staunch support of gay rights, the actress attended the People's Choice Awards in January 2011 wearing a strapless dress that featured the Noh8 logo - an organisation that raises funds to get the ban overturned.
The actress, who has played the wacky yet brilliant forensics expert Abby Sciuto on Ncis for nine seasons, was previously married to the actor and singer Coyote Shivers but the couple split in 2004. She was later engaged to cameraman Michael Bosman, but again, the pair called it a day in 2008. Perrette is keen not to rush her current relationship though, and the couple may never tie the knot if Proposition 8 isn't overturned. Speaking on her Twitter page this week, Pauley confirmed she was engaged but told followers not to expect wedding bells anytime soon, saying, "Me & My Marine are totally engaged now but will Not Get Married Until Prop 8 is Over". She later clarified the remark to her 200,000 followers, saying, "We're Not getting married because Prop 8 is unjust. But having blast being engaged. He re-asks me everyday & I say Yes".
The 42-year-old actress also took the time to stress her fiance Thomas is a former British marine and not an aspiring actor, which was erroneously reported by some news outlets.
