Stephanie Plum is down on her luck. She hasn't had a job in months, she is recently divorced and her car has been repossessed. She needs to turn her life around. Luckily for her, her cousin runs a bail bond business and offers Stephanie a job there as a recovery agent.

Unfortunately for Stephanie, she doesn't get a pair of handcuffs but she does get to practise shooting with a gun, something which she isn't very good at initially. The gun she practices with does cause excitement at the dinner table, though.

Once training is over, Stephanie gets her first assignment: a bail jumper who is a local cop. And who is this man that Stephanie's tracking down? None other than Joe Morelli, who dated and dumped Stephanie back in high school.

Despite this unwelcome blast from the past, Stephanie is convinced that this case will be easy money. But she soon realises that Morelli's case is full of holes, not to mention that the witnesses in the case are mysteriously dying. Suddenly, the assignment has got a lot harder for Stephanie. Can she successfully solve the mystery and quash her feelings for Morelli?

One For The Money is based on the novel of the same name by Janet Evanovich, who has written a further seventeen books in the 'Stephanie Plum' series. The most recent novel, Explosive Eighteen, was published in November 2011.
