Five teenagers - Holden; Curt; Marty; Jules and Dana - decide to go on a weekend trip to let off some steam. Not surprisingly, their location of choice is a cabin in the woods. So remote is this cabin that it doesn't show up on the teens' GPS.

They pack up their bags into Curt's van and set off excitedly. Towards the end of their journey, the van runs out of petrol. right next to an abandoned looking petrol station. The teens call out and an elderly man appears, almost from nowhere. He warns the friends about the cabin they are heading for but they pay no attention to him and laugh off his warnings.

They arrive at the cabin and almost immediately throw a party. It's only a matter of time before the teenagers are picked off one by one. but what's really surprising is the manner in which it will happen.

Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) produces this film, which he describes as 'a horror film to end all horror films'. Drew Goddard, who is a long-time collaborator of Whedon's, directs. The Cabin in the Woods was filmed in 2009 and finally has a release date of April 2012.
