We all know the soundtrack, those simple few chords that have backed many great sporting moment have become synonymous in the sporting world. Now, after 31 years since it's initial release, the true story of two very different runners in the 1924 Paris Olympics will be released once again, this time in full digitalised glory, as Chariots of Fire is set to be released once more as part of the London 2012 Festival.

Chariots of Fire tells the tale of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, two people with the same desire but very different approaches and backgrounds to go with it. Eric is a devout Christian who believes that his athletic abilities are God sent and in winning the gold medal he can properly repay the gift that has been bestowed on him. Harold meanwhile is an English Jew and Cambridge student. He dreams of fame and fortune, but most of all he dreams of providing his fellow (many anti-Semitic) students, and the rest of the world, that Jews are not an inferior race and they deserve respect.

Their motives are noble and their commitment is total. With a path towards success in front of them, they must first negotiate their way past personal sacrifices and professional obstacles before they can reach the light at the end of the tunnel.

Starring: Ben Cross, Ian Charleson, Ian Holm, Alice Krige, Nicholas Farrell, Cheryl Campbell and John Gielgud
