Country singer Carrie Underwood stops to wave at the cameras as she arrives outside The Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City for The Late Show With David Letterman.

The 29-year-old rose to fame after winning the2005 series of American Idol. She has won several Grammys, Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards not to mention becoming the first woman ever to ACM Awards for Entertainer of the Year two years in a row.

Her fourth album, Blown Away, has been released today and it has been announced that she will play her first UK gig in June at The Royal Albert Hall
