Indie rock band Liars have released the video for the first single, 'No.1 Against the Rush' of their self-produced latest album 'WIXIW'.

The video is a depraved story of abduction and murder in which each band member, Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross, get garrotted with plastic sheets and stuffed into the back of a dry cleaning worker's van in the dangerous part of LA. It's almost enough to distract you from the song which, incidentally, has an eerie instrumental that effectively haunting when coupled with the deep vocals. 'We were really won over by Todd Cole's enthusiasm for 'No. 1 Against The Rush'', said Aaron Hemphill on working with the video's director. 'Despite being wrapped head to toe in plastic, being dragged through broken glass, and being strangled to the ground, we had the easiest job to do on the set and we eagerly look forward to any new forms of punishment that can be inflicted upon us in making the next video.'

The band are currently on a North America tour, which kicked off at New York City's Webster Hall, promoting sixth album 'WIXIW' which came out at the beginning of the month (June 2012). ''Wish You' is a familiar and universal sentiment of longing and hope, but when misspelt becomes uniquely shrouded and difficult to interpret', Andrew says of the album. 'If we aren't confusing people, it's not us. If we aren't confusing ourselves with what we do, then we've failed.'
