It's only been a matter of months since British indie pop 4-piece Alt-J released their debut album 'An Awesome Wave', but the record has already easily hit UK album charts with some extremely positive reviews. So much so, it seems, that ahead of the Mercury Music Prize nominations announcement, they have become the current favourite of bookmakers to win the award for Album of the Year this year.

Alt-J have been billed to play a string of huge festivals this year including Leeds Festival where Contactmusic managed to catch up with Gwil (in a rather noisy press tent) for a quick chat about their album, their old home of Leeds and what they think about being frontrunners for this year's Mercury Music Prize.
