Kanye West: If You Post Sex Tape, I Will Sue You!

  • 25 September 2012

Kanye West’s sex-tape is somewhere out there: in the internet universe, though the superstar rapper is warning everyone against posting it. Gossip sites like TMZ.com reported last week that a tape featuring West and a Kim Kardashian lookalike was doing the rounds, and it looks as though a bidding war has begun for the distribution rights.

However, there’s a catch. According to the Huffington Post, Kanye’s legal team have sent cease-and-desist letters to a number of websites demanding that all screenshots from the alleged tape be removed. In part, it reads, “Be advised that the Screen Shot, as well as the Tape from which the Screen Shot was taken, were illegally obtained and believed to have been stolen from Mr. West’s computer. Your posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and otherwise disseminating the Screen Shot and/or other materials on the Tape constitute actionable violations of Mr West's rights of privacy and publicity.” Whether or not websites such as AllHipHop.com (who received the letter) will comply with Kanye’s demands remains to be seen.

That’s not the end of the story, either. TMZ says that a second sex-tape featuring the rapper is also floating around the internet, perhaps stolen at the same time as the first. We’re sure there’s a Kim Kardashian joke in here somewhere, but, well, we really can’t be bothered to find it.
