Megan Fox To Join Heroes In A Half Shell: Michael Bay Confirms 'Ninja Turtles' Rebirth
Michael Bay and Megan Fox had a highly publicised professional and personal conflict while working on the Transformers franchise. She compared Bay to Hitler and was eventually sacked, so it's a surprise move to see Fox on the same billing as Bay for a movie. However, according to the Los Angeles Times, that's precisely what's happening.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a favourite of kids and teens during the '80s and '90s is set for a resurgence after Bay has confirmed that he's heading up the financial side of a new movie. Cited as the popular force behind west coast surfer terms such as 'bodacious' and 'radical' as well as other phrases such as the iconic 'cowabunga!' it'll be interesting to see whether they'll employ new lingo or stick to that very 90s feeling vernacular. One thing is definitely changing that's the title, which is being shortened to just 'Ninja Turtles'.
Many people think Bay has a heavy hand when it comes to his directing, so it'll be a relief for many to find out that, as the Examiner reports, Jonathan Liebesman will be directing - probably why having Megan Fox on the team isn't too much of a problem for Bay.
While all this sounds promising there are countless questions left. Who'll be playing the renaissance-named heroes? Will evil rat Splinter return as the baddy? Who else is on board? Who's writing the screenplay? And most importantly, will they use the original theme song? Without answers to these questions, we're still predicting it's going to be a pretty bodacious movie.
