Chelsea Handler's Theory On Taylor Swift: "She's A Virgin"

Taylor Swift made headlines this week after belatedly hitting back at a relatively harmless jibe from Golden Globe hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler about her well documented relationship trouble. Quoting Katie Couric, Swift told the April issue of Vanity Fair, "There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."

Poehler offered a typically tongue-in-cheek riposte, though Swift didn't appear to be any mood for jokes. And now she's got Chelsea Handler coming down on her. The comedienne weighed into the row with her own little theory on why the country star has dated so many men (Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, John Mayer, Conor Kennedy, Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas and others). Speaking on the 'Watch What Happens Live' show with Andy Cohen, Chelsea joked, "My theory about Taylor Swift is that she's a virgin, that everyone breaks up with her because they date her for two weeks and she's like, 'I'm not gonna do it.' And they're like, 'Oh, well, forget it. Then I don't want to date you.'"

Explaining her theory further, Handler added, "Every guy thinks they're going to de-virginise her, and they're not. She's never going to get de-virginised, ever, ever, ever, ever." According to recent reports, ginger-haired singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is the latest man to have a go at the de-virginisation process.

Ultimately, Handler said she didn't care enough to takes sides in the debate, though struggled to remain completely on the fence. "They [Fey, Poehler] were clearly making a joke just about her demeanour, which is embarrassing. I mean, she's just dated so many men."
