In 2012 Cee-Lo Green recoded a verision of 'Mary, Did You You' for History Channel miniseries ‘The Bible’. It's a cover of the Mark Lowry song and which features in the soundtrack as well as in his 2012 festive album ‘Cee Lo’s Magic Moment’.

The moving video to the song features snippets from the show showing significant parts of Jesus’ life including his birth, his childhood, his baptism, breaking bread at the Last Supper, his crucifixion and resurrection and the feeding of the 5,000 before circling back to his journey back from Bethlehem as a new-born baby. It’s a poignant, modern hymn that Cee Lo’s enchanting vocals really make the best of.

With direction from Crispin Reece (‘I Shouldn't Be Alive’), Tony Mitchell (‘Flood’) and Christopher Spencer (‘Stonehenge: Decoded’), ‘The Bible’ is the brainchild of producers Roma Downey (who also stars in the series) and Mark Burnett (‘Survivor’, ‘Shark Tank’). The first episode of the show reached 13.1 million viewers giving it one of largest cable television audiences of 2013.
