Child Abuse Case Could Be Unearthed In New Michael Jackson Trial

The king of pop continues to lead the headlines even after his passing as his mother, Katherine and children Prince, 16, Paris, 14, and Michael Jr, 10, are taking tour promoter Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) Live to court over the late singer’s death.

In a dramatic twist to the case, though, LA Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos has ruled that a testimony about Jackson’s previous child abuse case (back in 2005) be heard. This, a strange decision considering the singer was acquittal, was after AEG’s specific demand. Similar charges against Jackson were dropped before they made it to trial back in 1994. The family is seeking £6.6 billion to make up for Jackson's lost future earnings, and £19.8 billion in other damages, claiming the negligent hiring and supervision of Conrad Murray, who acted as the singer's personal doctor prior to his death from an overdose of sedatives in 2009. Both Prince and Paris will be considered key players in this case. A source close to the family told British newspaper, The Mirror: “Both heard and saw certain things during Michael’s last few weeks alive. Prince was always going to give evidence, but Paris’s inclusion is something of a shock, adding, “She was very strong and assured in her depositions with AEG’s lawyers so we decided she should talk too."

The family source added: “It has taken four years for the family to tell the world the story about what they feel led to Michael’s death. It will be up to a jury to decide whether Michael’s death is down to his promoters. The family claim they have evidence which has never emerged before and it is explosive.”
