Elisabeth Hasselbeck Leaves 'The View' For 'Fox And Friends'

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been a presenter on ABC's morning talk show The View since 2003. It was announced yesterday (9th July) that she will not be returning to the show. Her last day on the show will be on Wednesday (10th July) according to an ABC spokesperson. It is uncertain who will take over Hasselbeck's position although TMZ report there are rumours that Brooke Shields is in talks for the position.

Hasselbeck's career was launched after she appeared on Survivor: The Autralian Outback in 2001. Since then she has acted as a presenter for The View and a judge on Miss USA.

Fellow host Barbara Walters released a statement saying "we have had 10 wonderful years with Elisabeth, and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good."

Hasselbeck is the second presenter from The View to move to Fox & Friends, she follows in the footsteps of Joy Behar. Jenny McCarthy is rumoured to be replacing Behar on The View. It is unknown who will step in for Hasselbeck.
