Chris Brown Facing Lawsuit, Filed By Frank Ocean's Cousin, Over Entourage Fight
Chris Brown is being sued by Frank Ocean's cousin who claims the Hip Hop star's bodyguard attacked him during a brawl on 27th January of this year.
The incident occurred when Brown, Ocean and their respective entourages were fighting, according to TMZ, outside an L.A. recording studio. The fight, according to USA Today, broke out after Brown had parked in Ocean's spot at the L.A. studio.
Brown's bodyguard, nicknamed 'Hood', attacked Ocean's cousin, Sha'Keir Duarte, and his employer encouraged him. Duarte claims he was one of the most badly injured victims of the fight. He says he was permanently disabled following the attack. Duarte also claims to have suffered mental anguish, himiliation and concussion from the attack.
According to Ocean's cousin, Hood attacked him, kicking him in the body twelve times and the head several times. This is whilst he lay on the ground unable to defend himself.
Duarte further claims Brown encouraged Hood by saying "get that n****r!" He taunted Duarte after the beating by leering "you just got your ass beat and it's all on camera." Reports in USA Today also suggest Brown threatened the involvement of guns in the attack.
Duarte is suing for unspecified damages. Brown's representatives have not commented on his latest legal troubles. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, has commented, saying "this is what gives lawyers and lawsuits a bad name is garbage like this." He went on to say he will attempt to have the lawsuit dismissed and will countersue Duarte.
