British actor Jamie Dornan has reportedly been tapped to replace Charlie Hunnam in the movie adaptation of 50 Shades Of Grey.

The 31-year-old former model became a frontrunner to portray Christian Grey in the film version of writer E.L. James' erotic novel as soon as Hunnam quit the project earlier this month (Oct13), and now it appears he has landed the coveted part.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dornan's screen test with female lead Dakota Johnson sealed the deal and he is set to start shooting on 1 November (13).

Dornan has previously appeared in U.K. drama The Fall, U.S. fairytale series Once Upon a Time and Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.

He also famously dated Keira Knightley from 2003 to 2005 and he wed actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner in April (13).

Universal Pictures and Focus Features executives have yet to confirm the latest casting news.
