As The Hunger Games: Catching Fire premieres across the world, the sequel to the 2012 adaptation of Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games looks set to outperform its predecessor at the box office.

With a massive budget and a returning cast of superstars, the movie delves once more into Collins' teen fiction post-apocalyptic universe to reunite with Katniss, Peeta, Gale, Haymitch and the others as the Districts of Panem rise up in rebellion after the 74th Hunger Games victory.

Will There Be Any New Additions To The Hunger Games Novels?

Although fans' hunger for more Hunger Games action is at its most voracious yet upon the imminent release of a new movie, author Suzanne Collins has ruled that there will be no more novels to extend the original trilogy. The cast have collectively enthused how much they loved working on the lucrative franchise but enough's enough for Collins.

Though it was more than likely assumed by most fans of the franchise that the story would be wrapped up with Mockingjay, The Wrap went ahead and asked Collins' rep to confirm that there would not be a fourth book. "Another one? No, the books are done," Collins' agent, Jason Dravis of The Monteiro Rose Agency stated.


The Cast Have All Agreed Working On 'The Hunger Games' Was A Blast.

Though she has no plans to revisit Panem and her character Katniss Everdeen, Collins is said to be planning on writing another teen series in the future but one that will likely not involve her most famous setting or roll call of characters.

To keep fans' interest buoyed now that there'll definitely be no more books, the third instalment, Mockingjay, will be split into two movies which will allow time for the filmmakers to render the final chapter in more impressive and immersive detail than could have been squeezed into just one film.
