Last night's British Fashion Awards ceremony at London's Coliseum were a characteristically glamorous affair yet the annual event was bigger and more publicised than ever before, showing the spotlight on the British fashion industry is only growing brighter. Hundreds of A-list celebrity guests, fashion royalty, and industry bigwigs piled into the Coliseum ready to celebrate what has been another considerably successful year in fashion by awarding those at the forefront.

"London is renowned as the fashion world's capital of ideas and innovation and the winners of the emerging talent awards reinforce this reputation," reads the British Fashion Awards in a statement, praising the outstanding winners.

As usual, plenty of stars made sure they weren't overlooked on the red carpet by wearing outfits to talk about for weeks to come. Actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley appeared to be wearing a red blazer suit with shorts and thigh high black boots but on closer inspection she had opted for a striking Antonio Berardi, block colour trouser suit with sharp tailoring and colour contrasting.

Though all eyes of the world are currently on Britain as a hub of style innovation, last night's awards showed that this is a trend that is set to continue and only intensify. Young designer Simone Rocha was named Emerging Womenswear Designer for her promising talent in the competitive sector whilst design duo Agi & Sam received the Emerging Menswear Designer award after a break-through year that saw their first London Fashion Week Show.
