Lady Gaga: Ten Of Her Best (Or Worst) Wonderfully Wacky Outfits
Lady GaGa has appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show wearing a dress made out of coffee filters - are we surprised? In a word, no. Where else is there to go once you wear a dress made out of meat, had a Christmas tree on your head and generally made a show of yourself every time you’ve stepped out the front door? We’re not complaining, Gaga’s outfits are always worth a look no matter how ridiculous they might seem and this list of ten of the best is just a small look at the singer’s increasingly wacky wardrobe.
1. Gaga Christmas, the Jingle Bell Ball December 2013
What better way to get yourself into the festive spirit than to wear an actual Christmas tree on your head? Well that’s what Gaga thought when she attended the Jingle Bell Ball back in December, Gaga’s tree was of course decorated with all the usual baubles, leading us to wonder just how heavy it was. She also added a bright green wig to keep with the theme and wore a futuristic red dress, presumably she’d ran out of wrapping paper.
2. Lady GaGa-Godiva, American Music Awards Awards 2013
Ok so this purple Versace gown isn't much to write home about in Gaga land, but you can't forget her major accessory - the white horse she rode onto the red carpet. Imitading another Lady, Godiva who was more famous for wearing no clothes, the horse was of course not real. Instead it was operated by two men, pantomime style and the whole thing ended up looking rather awkward.
3. Salvador Gaga, Berlin 2013
After you've called your album 'Artpop', it's only fitting to make a tribute to one of your favourite artists and that's just what Gaga did for the album's Berlin launch. Dressed seemingly in her underwear and with a large fur coat (she must have forgotten the middle bit of getting dressed) Gaga sported a Salvador Dali moustache to pay tribute to the world's original attention grabber.
4. Mona Lisa dress, London, December 2013
Another artist getting the Gaga treatment here and what better way to make a homage to your favourite painting than to dress up as the subject whilst simulatiously wearing it as a dress. Gaga rocked her Mona Lisa look during her stay in London and we’re sure DaVinci would have been proud if not slightly scared.
5. Mickey Jackson, London September 2013
It's not just artists that inspire Gaga, another icon she's paid a fashion homage to is Mickey Mouse. Whilst out and about during London Fashion week in 2012 Gaga sported these massive mouse ears at Philip Treacy’s show. Not only that she also wore the actual glove and jacket belonging to Michael Jackson, she later described the outfit by tweeting ‘Mickey Jackson’. But the real question is, how did she fit into her car?

6. Marie Antoinette wig and tiered dress, Brit Awards 2010
Rocking a Marie Antoinette wig, Gaga must have drew inspiration from the famous ‘let them eat cake’ misquote when she chose this white tiered dress that made her look like, well, a cake. She also covered her face in a lace eye mask, the icing on the cake perhaps?
7. Underwear as outerwear at the Ace Awards 2009
How do you dress when you’re being honoured with a ‘Stylemaker Award’? Well if your Gaga you might want to go for the underwear as outwear look but keep your own spin on it by having a silk shirt underneath. Then for the footwear, a pair of John Galliano pearl platforms will work nicely. Oh yeah, then you've got to put a lace balaclava on your head…
8. Flower hat, London Fashion Week
Everybody loves flowers, but maybe not as much as Gaga does. Gaga loves flowers so much she wore this incredibly uncomfortable looking hat/headress while at London fashion week. She may have had good intentions but this one is definitly veering on the slighty creepy side. She kind of looks like those 'Alice in Wonderland' talking flowers come to life, and that's not really a good thing.
9. Macy's fragrance launch September 2012
If aliens ever invade, this is what we imagine their evil queen would look like. This impractical latex dress didn't look too comfortable when Gaga emerged from her carriage at Macy's and her huge shoes made things even worse. Whatever Gaga was meant to resemble in this one isn't clear but we're sure a few kids had nightmares when they saw her that afternoon.
10. Intergalactic Gaga, Artpop launch
Continuing with the intergalatic villian theme we have this latex creation worn durnig the Artpop launch. This one must have been particularly hard to manuvere in as rubber is famously unforgiving. Seriously though, has Gaga been sent from space to take over one outfit at a time? Maybe and if she has how long will it be before we're all wearing rubber and face masks, we dread to think.
