Kim And Kanye Aren't The Only Unlikely Cover Stars Of 'Vogue'
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West hve finally fulfilled their dream of becoming are Vogue cover stars and well not everybody’s sharing in their joy. It seems some just don't think Kimye are 'Vogue' enough to feature on the fashion bible's cover. Surely Vogue reader's should be used to a less than typical cover star by now? Aparently not, but maybe Kimye can take solace in knowing that these four stars didn't have the easiest Vogue ride either.
Tina Fey
When comedienne Tina Fey became a Vogue cover girl in 2010, you’d have thought people would be rejoicing that such a smart, funny woman had landed such a high profile spot. Instead what people would rather talk about was that the scar on the left side of Tina’s face had been edited out. Not that big a deal really, especially when you read that Tina used her mantle as a Vogue cover girl to let rip on a number of issues, from her Sarah Palin impression to the media’s size issue. On the latter she said, ‘people will say, 'Oh, fashion magazines are so bad, they're giving girls a negative message'-but we're also the fattest country in the world, so it's not like we're all looking at fashion magazines and not eating.’ At the same time she also described models as ‘gigantic, with giant hands and feet. That's one way ot endear yourself to the fashion world.

Adele
British singer Adele became a US Vogue cover star in March 2012, but it wasn't without its fair share of controversy. A lot of this was too do with the alleged excessive amount of airbrushing that had gone on to make Adele 'Vogue worthy.' Many outraged fans took to the internet to exclaim their distaste for Adele’s new photoshopped look. The, singer who had long been known for promoting a body positive image didn't look that much like herself in her appearance on the magazine's cover and there were further allegations that Vogue had purposely tried to hide her figure by not using full length shots.
Michelle Obama
Does a first lady belong on the cover of Vogue? Well some didn't think so and thought that Michelle had better things to do than her second Vogue cover shoot last April. Some thought the First Lady was just becoming a bit too over exposed in the media. There's no denying though that Michelle has become a bit of style icon as well as a positive role model for young girls, so why not have her on the Vogue cover? After all she’s not the first president’s wife to grace a magazine cover and she certainly wont be the last.
We're only just getting over the controversy surrounding Lena Dunham’s Vogue cover in February. Some where very happy to see Dunham staring out at them from the cover of the high end glossy, while others thought there was something off about the pics. The ‘others’ were actually feminist blog Jezebel who offered a bounty of $10,000 for the unretouched photos. They photos were eventually handed over and the full extent of the Dunham's photoshopping was revealed and really, it wasn’t all that much. Still, the debate raged on with Lena saying _Jezebe_l had ‘made such a monumental error in their approach to feminism… It felt gross.’ Many sided with Dunham and once again another Vogue cover of a prominent female was reduced to a photoshop debate.
