Jennifer Lawrence On Board To Reteam With David O. Russell For Mop Lady Biopic
Actress Jennifer Lawrence is in talks for another reunion with the director behind her two Oscar nominations after signing on to portray the inventor of the Miracle Mop in what looks like becoming David O. Russell's next movie.
O. Russell's leading lady in American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook wants to play Joy Mangano in the untitled new movie, which will chronicle the businesswoman's rise from struggling mother-of-three to multi-millionaire after selling her mop-making business Ingenious Designs, Llc to bosses at America's Home Shopping Network.
And the director is close to signing on to make the film
Lawrence says, "He recently texted me at, like, four in the morning and was like, 'I think I want to make a movie about the woman who invented the Joy Mop, do you want to do it?' I was like, 'Yeah'.
"I can just imagine David looking at someone mopping and being like, 'Yeah that's my next movie'."
Lawrence and Russell previously worked together on Silver Linings Playbook, which earned the 23 year old an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2013 and American Hustle, which landed her a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nod earlier this year 2014.
