Allan Karlsson is living out his old age in an old people's home, but on his milestone 100th birthday, he decides that it's time to return to a life filled with thrills and adventure. As staff and residents prepare to throw him a huge bash, he escapes through his bedroom window and disappears into the surrounding streets. For someone who has had dinner with President Harry S. Truman, travelled with the likes of Winston Churchill and the wife of Mao Zedong and hiked across the Himalayas, you wouldn't think there was room for another big adventure in old Allen's life - but you'd be wrong. On his exciting new (and possible final adventure) he discovers a bag of dirty money and finds himself on the run from an angry druglord and the local police department. So near the end of his life and unafraid of the fact, this could be his most remarkable journey yet.

The aptly titled 'The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared' is based on the hilarious 2009 best-selling novel by Swedish author Jonas Jonasson, with the movie having been directed by Felix Herngren ('Vuxna människor', 'Every Other Week') and co-written by Hans Ingemansson ('Mysteriet på Greveholm'). The film won the Audience Award at the 2014 Guldbagge Awards and is due for cinematic release on July 4th 2014.
