Renee Zellweger (born 25.4.1969) Renee Zellweger is an American Actress, best known for her title role in Bridget Jones' Diary.
Childhood: Renee Zellweger was born and raised in Texas, by her father Emil (an oil refinery engineer) and her mother Kjellfried Irene (a nurse). Her father is of Swiss origin and her mother is Norwegian. Renee has one older brother, Andrew.
Whilst attending Katy High School, Renee was a keen participant in soccer, baseball and football. She was also a member of the drama club. Zellweger graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a BA in English Language.
Renee's first acting job after university was an appearance in a beef commercial.
Acting Career: Zellweger's acting career began whilst she was still living in Texas, In 1993, she landed a small role in the ABC TV series Murder In The Heartland, followed by her first film appearance the next year, in Reality Bites, which was Ben Stiller's directorial debut. Her first major film role came in 1994's Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Zellweger starred in the film alongside Matthew McConaughey.
After moving to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, Zellweger appeared in Empire Records in 1995, followed by 1996's the Whole Wide World.
Renee Zellweger's breakthrough role came later on in 1996 when she appeared alongside Tom Cruise in the hit movie Jerry Maguire. Her performance in Nurse Betty, opposite Morgan Freeman, earned her a Golden Globe Award. When Hugh Grant announced her name as the winner, she was in the bathroom. She later apologized, saying that she had had lipstick on her teeth.
The role that really propelled Zellweger to international stardom was as Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones' Diary, the film based on Helen Fielding's novel of the same name. To make for a believable performance, Renee had to gain a substantial amount of weight and learn to do a convincing British accent. Her performance earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. She also starred in the sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
In 2002, Zellweger undertook the legendary character of Roxy Hart in the big screen version of Chicago, which also starred Catherine Zeta Jones and Richard Gere.
Her first Oscar win came in 2004, for her Best Supporting Actress role in Cold Mountain, which starred Nicole Kidman and Jude Law.
In 2006, Zellweger turn her hand to film production, with Miss Potter. She also took the lead role in the film, which was based on the life of Beatrix Potter. In 2008, she also co-produced Living Proof, a TV movie starring Harry Connick Jr.
Personal Life: Renee Zellweger has been romantically linked with a number of actors, including Joshua Pate and George Clooney. She also dated Jim Carrey - a relationship that was frequently in the media spotlight. She also dated Jack White, the guitarist and lead singer of The White Stripes.
In 2005, Zellweger married Kenny Chesney, a musician and singer, but the marriage was annulled after just four months.

Renée Zellweger will once again be showcasing her sensational singing talent as she sets out to star as the world's best-loved showbiz icon Judy Garland in the forthcoming mononymous biopic Judy. We can't think of anyone better to take on the role in this adaptation of the Tony-nominated Broadway play End of the Rainbow.
The accompanying soundtrack album marks Zellweger's first ever solo release, though it's not as though we're unfamiliar with her vocal dexterity. She was nominated for an Oscar following her role as Roxie Hart in the 2002 musical film Chicago in which she sang Nowadays, among other numbers.

The last time Renee warmed her vocal chords for a role was musical crime comedy-drama film based on the stage-musical of the same name, Chicago, in which she starred opposite Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Roxy Hart - winning a Golden Globe for Best Actress in the process.

Zellweger vehemently denied a story attributed to Harvey Weinstein in a new lawsuit that she and other actresses offered "sexual favours" to him for career advancement.
Renee Zellweger has rubbished claims made in a new lawsuit that she gave Harvey Weinstein “sexual favours” in order to boost her career prospects, calling the disgraced producer “full of s***”.
The story stems from a lawsuit filed this week by actress Melissa Sagemiller, which stated that Weinstein used to cite Zellweger’s name in an example of how a sexual relationship with him could help to boost aspiring female actors’ careers.
“Renée Zellweger, Charlize Theron and other actresses gave sexual favours,” the lawsuit claims Weinstein said, along with comments such as: “Don’t you want your career to be more than just this little teen film?”

Renee Zellweger Financially Supporting Boyfriend To Tune Of $5000 Per Month

According to court documents regarding Doyle Bramhall's spousal and child payments to his ex-wife, Zellweger allows him to live rent-free and funds his credit cards.
Renee Zellweger has reportedly been financially supporting her boyfriend Doyle Bramhall as he finalises his divorce from his estranged wife Susannah Melvoin, in something resembling a real life Bridget Jones saga.
A report by E! News on Thursday (October 12th) that had sight of court documents reveals that Zellweger has been allowing musician Bramhall to live with her for free, in addition to funding his credit cards that have been running at $4,000-$5,000 per month. The documents also reveal that his 2015 spending came close to $60,000.
Nothing particularly significant about this, you might say at first glance, but the issue potentially matters because the judge in the case ended up ruling that Zellweger’s contribution to Bramhall's lifestyle should not be considered in what he pays in spousal and child support to his estranged wife.

Renee Zellweger has hired a voice coach to help her regain her English accent for Bridget Jones’ Baby, according to reports in a British tabloid. The 46-year-old American actor has previously played Bridget in two previous films but, in all fairness to Zellweger, it has been a while since she needed to put on Bridget’s posh accent.

In a recent interview with Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Chris Evans (Captain America), the two actors displayed a hilarious friendship with one anther - giving a tiny glimpse into what it must be like on set with these guys.
"Lovers, kindred souls, kindred spirits", said Hemsworth, while discussing the relationship between Thor and Captain America. Evans jumped in by revealing: "We wear necklaces with a little broken heart, and when we put them together." But when they tried to draw a comparison between themselves and another movie, they found themselves with different opinions.
