Natalie Dormer Shows Her Edgy Side In 'Mockingjay - Part 1' Clip

  • 09 November 2014

There's less than two weeks to go until The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is released in cinemas worldwide. But if you're desperately awaiting the film and feel you can't absolutely can't wait then check out this short clip from the upcoming movie.

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson star in The Hunger Games franchise.

Watch: The Trailer For The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

The clip shows Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones) as Cressida, one of the rebel fighters in District 13, as she introduces Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss to the group of rebels who will help her revolt against the capital. It's also introduces us to some new actors joining the large Hunger Games cast for the upcoming films.

Cressida introduces her assistant Messalla, played by Evan Ross (90210). The franchise is certainly keen on drawing on some music icons to appear in the films, Lenny Kravitz featured in the previous two films, as Ross is the son of singer Diana Ross.

The two other crew members, brothers Castor and Pollux, are played by Wes Chatham (The Help) and Elden Henson (Jobs). The clip also introduces another aspect of life in the Capital we've previously not encountered in the Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Pollux is an Avox, someone who has been punished by the Capital authorities for disobedience by having their tongues removed.

So, if you thought the previous two films were dark, be prepared for more tales of cruelty and repression. Fortunately, Dormer's Cressida certainly counterbalances the horror with her edgy and direct approach. With her hair shaved on one side, Dormer is virtually unrecognisable from her role in Game of Thrones as the beautiful and amiable Margaery Tyrell.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is released in the UK on 20th November and in the US on 21st November 2014.
