Arnold Schwarzenegger re-vamps the zombie genre with a touching horror drama based on the unconditional love between a father and daughter during a time of global crisis. 'Maggie' is the directorial feature debut of designer Henry Hobson.

It goes without saying that the zombie genre is getting a bit tired. Various films in recent years have attempted to shake things up a bit; the 'zom-com' was created with the likes of 'Warm Bodies' and 'Life After Beth', and Brad Pitt took the whole idea to its maximum with his chilling film adaptation of 'World War Z'. However, we think 'Maggie', produced by and starring 'The Terminator' himself, really goes that extra mile as it hones in on the development of a disease in one young girl, and explores the effect it has on her family.

Against his daughter's wishes, Wade (Schwarzenegger) goes looking for her after she goes missing. Maggie (Abigail Breslin) is determined to protect her father from the disease, as he has protected her her whole life, but a devoted father never gives up on his offspring. He finds her quarantined in hospital, but the staff allow for her release so that she can spend her last weeks in his company; though there are very strict conditions. As she starts to show more signs of hostility and the need to feed, she must be taken back. And if there's no way to cure her, she must be killed.More: 'Maggie' leads Tribeca Film Festival 2015
