Betty May Have To Fight For Jughead In 'Riverdale' Season 2

When 'Riverdale' came to the small screen at the beginning of 2017 on The CW, not many people knew what to expect from the Archie Comics small screen live adaptation. Teasers gave little pieces of information away, allowing potential viewers to dip their toes into one of the darkest worlds Archie and his friends would be a part of, teasing a murder mystery and quickly drawing comparison to 'Twin Peaks'.
Quickly becoming a hit, the show was perfect for water cooler conversation and amassed a loyal following, all intent on working out the mysteries presented in the series for themselves and flooding the internet with various theories, ranging from the ridiculous to the plausible. It's fair to say that executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and his team of cast and crew had a hit on their hands.

Cole Sprouse Teases "Darker And Stranger" 'Riverdale' Season 2

The actor is excited for fans to see the "over-the-top and campy" new episodes.
'Riverdale' impressed audiences across the globe throughout its first season. Though it confused many when it was revealed a television series would be brought to life based on the characters from the long-running Archie Comics books, the dark tone and humour injected throughout the show meant it was a major success, with US network The CW quickly ordering a second season.
Sprouse is perhaps the most recognisable name from those signed onto the show - at least before the series got started - following his time on the hit Disney Channel series 'The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody'. Now he's all grown up, and taking on what might be his most challenging and compelling role so far.

'Riverdale' Love Triangle Will Happen - Just Not This Season

The Archie-Betty-Veronica love triangle will be a focus at some point, but not in the immediate future.
Based on the long-running Archie comic books, 'Riverdale' has become a huge hit both in the States and abroad, following the characters the series has made famous including Archie (KJ Apa), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) amongst others.
Currently focusing on a murder investigation, after Jason Blossom was found washed up with a bullet hole in his head, the show gives a darker and gloomier outlook on the town of Riverdale; one that much of the comic book readers wouldn't have been expecting. Despite that, much of the lore remains in place, and that includes the impending love triangle between Archie, Veronica and Betty.
