Ted Nugent Shares Harsh Life Lessons With Graduating Students

The outspoken star, who is known for his controversial views, shared his life lessons with the Class of 2015 in an article for DailyCaller.com, in which he admits he "never went to college because I was too busy learning stuff".

He goes on to reveal "a few pragmatic, real world pointers", which he insists is the "hard, cold truth of being independent, healthy, happy and successful".

In the piece, he claims social justice is a "commie (Communist) scam", and declares, "Economic equality is for sheep. If you really believe we are all equal in our capabilities you will go nowhere."

He also states, "The minimum wage is for minimum wage earners. If you believe you are worth more, go get it. Show by your productivity and professionalism that you are better than minimum. Upgrade awaits upgraders", and warns, "Nobody owes you jacksquat. You will either earn your own way, or feel like a helpless leech. There is no middle ground."

Other highlights in the article include, "The whole world sucks, but America still sucks less. Learn your history and be the best we the people participant that you can be", and, "Sometimes you give the world the best you got and you get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you got anyway."

Concluding the essay, Nugent writes, "The only thing that truly holds anyone back is themselves. Don't hold back. Carpe diem like you mean it and have the time of your lives. God bless and Godspeed my American BloodBrothers! The ball is now in your court. Hit it square, hit it often, hit it hard and hit it smart!"

Nugent isn't the only veteran star to warn students of the struggle ahead - Robert De Niro stunned graduates at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts on Friday (22May15) by telling them their futures were starting from a very bleak place, quipping, "You're an artist, yeah, you're f**ked. The good news is that's not a bad place to start."
