Alexander Skarsgard Not 'cool Enough'

Alexander Skarsgard ''wasn't cool enough'' for girls when he was a teenager.

Although the 38-year-old actor is now one of Hollywood's hottest hunks, he admitted that as a youngster in Sweden he didn't have much luck with the opposite sex.

Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, he said: ''When I was a young teenager I didn't go out much, just hung out at home and played video games. The girls in our class, we weren't cool enough for them and they found some older dudes with Vespas and moustaches.''

However, Alexander - who is currently dating TV presenter and model Alexa Chung - soon made up for it.

He added: ''My late teens were wilder. I discovered partying.''

Alexander isn't the only Swede making it big in Hollywood, with Alicia Vikander, Joel Kinnaman and Noomi Rapace among the actors who have found fame and Alexander revealed that they have a little community amid the craziness of Tinseltown.

He said: ''There are a lot of Swedes in Hollywood in general. We have a tendency to know each other and help each other out.''

While Alexander takes on the titular character in the new 'Tarzan' movie, his last attempt at a blockbuster did not go so well, with 2012's critical and commercial flop 'Battleship', but he insisted he doesn't regret it.

He said: ''I'm only in 'Battleship' for 30 minutes. I get blown up pretty early on. I'm a fan of Pete Berg. I still think he's a fantastic director and I actually had a lot of fun. I know it was a disappointment at the box office but it didn't turn me off big movies.''
