Geri Halliwell (born Geraldine Estelle Halliwell; 06.08.1972) Geri Halliwell is an English singer best known for being a former member of the girlband Spice Girls and donning the moniker Ginger Spice.

Childhood Geri: Halliwell was born in Watford. Her parents are Laurence Francis Halliwell and Ana María. She grew up on a council estate in North Watford and attended Watford Grammar School for Girls. Before joining the Spice Girls, she worked as a nightclub dancer, a TV presenter and a glamour model.

Musical career: Geri Halliwell joined the Spice Girls in 1994 and was dubbed Ginger Spice in 1996 by Top of the Pops magazine. She was popular for her vibrant outfits, particularly her Union Jack dress that she wore at the 1997 BRIT awards. The band became the biggest selling girlband ever and sold more than 65 million records. Their debut single 'Wannabe' shot to number one and they subsequently had eight other number one singles including 'Mama' and '2 Become 1'. In 1998, she left the group due to musical differences and because she was suffering from depression. In 1999, she released her debut solo album 'Schizophonic' with number one singles 'Mi Chico Latino', 'Lift Me Up' and 'Bag It Up'. In 2001, she released her second album, 'Scream If You Wanna Go Faster', on which she covered 80s hit 'It's Raining Men' by the Weather Girls. It was a massive hit and landed platinum certification. In 2004, she released single 'Ride It', which reached number four in the UK. She arranged a UK tour that never came to fruition due to poor ticket sales. In 2005, she released her third album 'Passion'. In 2007, she announced that she would take part in a Spice Girls reunion tour entitled Return of the Spice Girls. In 2012, she reunited with the band yet again for the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony.

Other career ventures Geri Halliwell released her autobiography 'If Only' in 1999. In 2002, she became a judge on the TV talent show 'Popstars: The rivals' with Pete Waterman and Louis Walsh. She also became a judge on the show 'All American Girl'. In 2003, she published a second autobiography entitled 'Just for the Record' and released two Yoga DVDs, 'Geri Yoga' and 'Geri Body Yoga'. She has made various other TV and film appearances including on 'Sex and the City' and in the movies 'Fat Slags' and 'Crank: High Voltage'. In 2007, she signed a book deal with Macmillan Children's Books to release a book series called 'Ugenia Lavender'. In 2010, she was a guest judge on 'The X Factor' and returned once again in 2012. She released her own bikini through Next in 2011. Geri Halliwell: Personal life Geri Halliwell had a daughter called Bluebell Madonna in 2006 and it is thought, but not confirmed, that the father is film director Sacha Gervasi. She supports Watford Football Club. In 1999, she became a representative for the United Nations Population Fund and subsequently travelled the world on behalf of the charity, visiting Zambia to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS. In 1997, she was a vocal supporter of Margaret Thatcher and the Conservative Party. In 2001, her political affiliations had changed in favour of Tony Blair and the Labour Party.

The UK Tour of one of 90s biggest bands has six more dates

Girl Power blasted back into people's consciousness earlier this month when four out of the five 'Spices' announced they were reforming for a six date tour. However, so huge was the response to Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger appearing back on stage, the Spice Girls have revealed six more new dates in order to meet demand.

Fans have been somewhat divided since the announcement of the Spice Girls Reunion Tour. While 90s Girl Power fever pitch has hit new heights with many thrilled the girl group are getting back together to sing their hits one more time, for others, now five has become four, it just isn't the same.

Rumours surrounding a possible Spice Girls reunion continue to rumble on with Mel B adding further fuel to the fire but with few nailed down confirmed details. Speaking about the return of the five Girl Power promoters, Scary Spice claimed if it was up to her they would tour immediately; however, this still seems a long way off for fans.

Reports in The Sun indicate that the five are meeting in London on Friday to discuss terms for a full reunion in 2018.

The reunion that many thought would never happen might finally be on, with reports that all five Spice Girls have agreed to put their differences aside and get together again later this year.

A report by The Sun on Thursday night (February 1st) indicated that the group are about to reunite under the aegis of their former manager, Simon Fuller, for a string of projects that will commence in 2018. Each of the five members will apparently earn £10 million, with reports that Victoria Beckham was the last to be convinced to do the reunion, but on the condition that she will not have to sing.

They are reportedly all meeting in London on Friday to discuss terms for the potential reunion.

Horner had appeared on 'Good Morning Britain' and was bemoaning the increasingly unlikely possibility of a Spice Girls reunion.

Geri Horner has denied that she was “throwing shade” at her former Spice Girls bandmates during a recent interview on ‘Good Morning Britain’.

The 45 year old singer and TV personality appeared on the ITV magazine show on Thursday morning (January 25th), and talked about her memories of the Spice Girls days. Questioned on the increasingly unlikely possibility of a reunion – rumours of which have been flying around for over two years now – Horner replied that she had “let go” of hopes that the five would get back together.

“Last year I so wanted it to happen, because it was the anniversary, and a few of us were really pushing for it to happen,” she told hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard. “And then it didn’t, so I sort of let it go a little bit. I love the girls, and I’m really grateful for the fans and the music.”

The ex-Spice Girl sang 'Last Christmas' with an a-cappella choir on 'This Morning' - but it left viewers slamming her for her singing abilities.

She was one of his closest friends, but Geri Horner has been roundly criticised by ‘This Morning’ viewers after her tribute to George Michael fell distinctly flat after a performance of his Wham! hit ‘Last Christmas’.

The former Spice Girl, 45, appeared on the ITV magazine show on Wednesday morning (December 20th) after she had invited cameras into her Oxfordshire home in a pre-recorded segment. She was joined by ‘This Morning’s celeb correspondent Rylan Clark-Neal and her two kids, Bluebell and baby Monty.

She gave a performance of ‘Last Christmas’ as a tribute to her late friend George Michael, who passed away on Christmas Day 2016, and was accompanied by an a-cappella choir Vadé, of ‘Sing: Ultimate A-Cappella’ fame, in front of a group of OAPs who had also been invited into Horner’s living room for a special treat.
